We must be intentional about using the chapters of our life that, perhaps were the darkest, to write our future pages.
Each moment within our stories, that we can appropriate to move us forward towards our potential and away from dwelling in that negative experience, is a moment that will add value to our story for ourselves and others.
Life, in all its ups and downs, happens FOR us NOT to us.
Are you a better past or a better future person?
This discussion goes all over the place as we wrestle with the question and all the fun conversation that comes with it as we explore.

Making change in out habit for the better is absolutely necessary for long term progress towards our potential in body, soul and spirit. The tricky part is actually making the new habits stick!
Without schedule our time for training body, soul and spirit can be lost in the noise. We must learn to structure our training time into our schedules so that we can be our best with all the rest of our lives.
Imagine if we all had our training time plugged into our day with as much importance as anything else.
Make the best version of yourself a priority and make no excuses for that time in your schedule.
We thrive in community. This doesn't mean we don't need alone time, however it does mean that we need community. The most successful people are surrounded by peers and community that push them toward greatness. Imagine how much further you could progress if you had people around you pulling you forward when you didn't feel like it. Interact with people. Be interested in interacting with peers. Be purposeful in adding value in your community of people and where you go is limitless.
S.M.A.R.T. is often the acronym folks use when setting goals. This method can be used in any training scenario in your life whether it be Body, Soul and Spirit.
-Then, once achieved-
Add value to those around you and celebrate their victories as well as your own in training (body, soul, spirit) and choose to see the positive not the negative.
I can't stress to you the importance of taking scheduled rest. If we are not taking appropriately scheduled rest then we are just breaking ourselves down. This applies to the body, soul and spirit. If you aren't resting enough on the regular, it can drive you into a fatigue that could potentially cause injury, mental fatigue and spiritual dullness.
Rest means rest.
Listen, if God needed a rest day after creation, then your ass needs a rest day after a week of training.
The importance of a journal in progress is essential to obtaining forward movement toward our goals.
I've recently looked back at several of my old journals and marveled at how far I've come in my life. I would have never known that progress without that recorded journal. Folks we live in a digital era. Don't limit yourself to just old school pen and paper journal, You can't truly know what you are capable of achieving if you do not record the places you've been and the progress you have made.
Sometimes you just have to switch things up in training. In physical training it means: not everyday can be an all out strength day, not everyday can be all out gymnastics, not everyday can be all out Metcon.
In the mind we have to vary the ways we learn. Switching frequently between reading, listening, tactile, etc.
In training spiritually we must constantly change how we connect to God. Worship, prayer, silence, being in nature, reading scriptures, etc. are all valuable and effective.
Never miss a Monday! Monday is our opportunity to seize the week and continue the positive momentum throughout the rest of the week Remember, practicing gratitude is a lifestyle commitment that we have the opportunity to start fresh with every day. Start your week with gratitude in all your training, body, soul and spirit on the first day and see if your week isn't amazing.
Don't fight me on this. There is no "I function just fine with 3-5 hours of sleep. Don't make me reach through this video and slap you! You are not special. You need 7-10 hours of sleep to operate at your best. If you get less than that you are asking for a whole host of issues to begin creeping in on you.
Often we miss the importance of having a mental and spiritual breakfast as well as a physical breakfast. --- Just as we need physical food to fuel our bodies to work, grow and repair we also need mental and spiritual food to move towards our best potential.
Fun is something that impacts the entire person. What I mean is when we experience fun, we experience it body, soul and spirit. That's how we know it's genuine fun. Laughter, real smiles, the release of serotonin, the spiritual connection to God and others... these are all indicators of real fun. --- We MUST seek this fun.
